Last Week’s Shoot – Pateley Bridge at Christmas

Pateley Bridge at Christmas

I had another trip out in search of Christmassy dusk shots last week.  This time it was the turn of Pateley Bridge as I thought it would be nice to have a Christmas image available for my Nidderdale calendar next year!

The forecast had been for light cloud but no rain, so the shower that came over was initially a bit annoying as darkness fell but once the rainclouds had passed over the wet road and pavements looked great reflecting the Christmas lights.

There were two big Christmas trees along the High Street, both looking very colourful as the sky became a deeper blue.

There was another smaller tree tucked away in King’s Court just off the High Street too and the courtyard looked very pretty with light from the shop windows reflecting off the wet flagstones.

I wasn’t sure if I’d get a shot looking along the High Street without traffic (I got quite a few with traffic trails!) but there was a very brief break in the traffic where the whole street was clear (there’s usually a van parked somewhere along there too) so I had to make the most of it!

There are more images from the shoot in the Yorkshire Dales Gallery on my website.
