The Photographer’s Guide to The Yorkshire Dales

Shot of Kisdon Force near Keld also used in the book

I’ve just taken delivery of a really useful little book entitled The Photographer’s Guide to The Yorkshire Dales from Ellen Bowness of Long Valley Books.  I can heartily recommend it to any photographer planning to go out and capture the Yorkshire Dales on camera.  It also features seven of my images, including a Swaledale shot on the front cover!

The book features over fifty great locations across the Dales and, even though I’ve been photographing the Dales for years, there are still one or two that I’ve not been to yet!

Each of the locations is described in detail with instructions on how to get there, walking time from the nearest parking place and handy maps with suggested viewpoints.

All in all its a great resource for photographers of the Dales at any level.

The cover features one of my images of the famous Gunnerside Barns which also appears full page inside the book to illustrate the Gunnerside Meadows  location. My images are also used to illustrate Twisleton Scar, Gordale Scar, Muker Meadows, Kisdon Force and Knaresborough.

It’s also pleasing to see that all of the main locations for the Natural Light Photography Workshops that I run in the Yorkshire Dales with Sam Oakes are included in the book!

The Photographer’s Guide to The Yorkshire Dales is now available from Long Valley Books or Amazon.
